Michelle Christie is a Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist (BC-HIS), a professional member of the International Hearing Society, and the owner of Clarity Professional Hearing Aid Center.
She works with all the major hearing aid manufacturers, so her recommendations start with your hearing and your life — not a single brand. And every visit starts the same way: by listening to what you've been missing, and what matters most to you.

One of the major reasons that treating hearing loss early is important is really to take a look at your life and determine if there's anything you feel you're missing out on. Have you found yourself not wanting to go to your favorite restaurant anymore because you're not hearing well in that environment? So it's important to find out why that is happening and if it's hearing loss.
The hearing devices today are so advanced and there's so many options for everyone that it's really important to just determine if you have a loss and if hearing aids would be helpful. If you feel like it's sounding like everybody is mumbling, that you're not catching all of the beginnings and endings of words, that's also a sign of hearing loss.
Hearing loss affects so many areas of the quality of life for people. Not only do they sometimes withdraw and stop doing things they enjoy when they're not hearing well in those environments, but also it can affect our memory. It really can start to separate you from your life and from things that you enjoy, and it's so important to stay connected.
